Bike Scene

Today we met up at Becky's house to film the bike scene using the roads surrounding her house. We found that this would work well for us as the roads were very quiet and also local to the garage where Becky had stored the bike, meaning that transportation of the bike to the scene wouldn't be problematic when we had the group there.

However, for this scene we had specific risk assessment issues to take into consideration. The major risk here was that Megan was wearing the mask whilst riding the bike, and as such would be blind and unable to see where she was going. However, to amend the problem, Hannah drilled a hole in the front of the mask where the mouth was, it was dark enough that the hole wasn't visible, but Megan could still see through it.

We decided that for these scenes we would be able to mute the diegetic audio and simply add a backing track over the top, this meant that Hannah and Becky were able to shout directions to Megan while she was blinded in order to minimize the risks of her crashing into a wall or parked vehicle etc.

In this scene in particular we were able to use Becky's father's convertible car in order to create a tracking shot of Finn as she rode her bike. This allowed us to bring in a much more complicated type of shot by recording from the back seat as the car slowly moved forward.

During this filming session we also decided to take a few photographs that we could potentially use for our ancillary products.
